Historic Biltmore Village in Asheville, North Carolina
Conceived by George Vanderbilt as a planned "English Country" style community that would complement his stunning Biltmore Estate and house estate workers, Biltmore Village was constructed in the late 1890's and features historic buildings, beautiful architecture, unique shops, restaurants and galleries.The village included a church, a hospital, a school, shops, and a railroad depot. Most of the buildings in the village were designed by Vanderbilt's architect, Richard Morris Hunt, and survive today as a living testament to the graceful architectural aesthetic of Vanderbilt's original vision. www.biltmorevillage.com
