Biltmore Estate: One of Asheville's Most Iconic Attractions

Travel back in time to a more grand and leisurely lifestyle with a visit to Asheville's Biltmore Estate. Considered to be America's largest home, the estate was built by George Vanderbilt, completed in 1895, and is a top attraction in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The magnificent 8,000-acre grounds and gardens were designed by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted. Visitors have so many ways to experience the Biltmore Estate including outdoor concerts, wine tastings, dining, and tours via kayak, Segway, horseback, bike, and Land Rover.

  • Are the Biltmore tickets valid for the entire estate?

The discounted Biltmore tickets -- which are available for purchase at the hotel -- provide access to a self-guided visit of Biltmore House, entrance to the historic gardens, a visit to Antler Hill Village with a free wine tasting at the winery, as well as admission to certain exhibitions being held at the estate.
  • How long do guests typically spend at Biltmore?

It really all depends upon how much you want to see and do. Visitors are advised to arrive 45 minutes prior to the entry time to allow time to park and catch a shuttle to Biltmore House. Depending upon your pace, it usually takes between 1.5 hours and 2 hours to see the entire house and can take 4 to 6 hours to see the estate, winery, and gardens. But there is so much more to explore at the estate including touring the grounds and visiting the Antler Hill Village Winery and Farm. Some say depending upon what you want to see and do, you can spend an entire day at the estate or even a second day if you want to participate in one of the Outdoor Adventure Activities which include biking, carriage rides, fly fishing, hiking, Land Rover tours, horseback riding, river float trips, Segway Tours, sporting clays, and Stand Up Paddle Boarding.
