  • Where is the best place to park?

Parking in Downtown Asheville can sometimes be tricky. If you don't mind paying to park, there are a number of parking garages around the area (see the link to the map below which shows the garages throughout the downtown area). You can also drive around to look for street parking which is metered. The good news is that meters only need to be fed from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM every day except Sunday. So, if you are parking on the street outside of those hours, it's free. But please be sure to read the meters carefully to confirm.
  • Does Downtown Asheville have any museums?

Yes. Downtown is home to the Asheville Art Museum and Asheville Museum of Science. If you are looking to learn about Asheville's history, the city's heritage is outdoors along the sidewalks of downtown. Explore the Asheville Urban Trail, a self-guided walking tour of downtown that highlights the architecture, people, and historic events of the city. Follow the the Urban Trail Walking Map that directs you to walk 1.7 miles to 30 stations, each with a piece of art and a bronze plaque that commemorates the city's significant cultural, social and architecture stories.
